GGCD JUNIOR BASEBALL ACADEMY
Our Baseball Academy is not only for all current Dodgers Juniors, but for those that played U10 T-Ball last season and may be interested in having a shot at U11 baseball.
Our program for boys and girls goes for six Fridays from 18 June until 23 July from 6pm until 8pm at Mega Courts Indoor Sports complex in Windsor Gardens.

We have a great coaching staff headed up by Steve Whitehead, Baseball SA’s Junior Coach of the Year for 2020.
Steve has put together an exciting schedule for our program.

Brandon (Dipper) Diplock, Matt Burns and many others will also be involved.
Among them is Mikyla Payne and we welcome other women baseball players participation to assist in our inclusive program.

Some of our Div 1 squad players will also be assisting. A great line up of talent to show the way to play better baseball and have more fun!

5.2 Life Members (per GGCD Constitution)

No more than two life memberships may be awarded annually.

If you wish to nominate a Life Member, please complete the attacjed form to your best ability and

AUSTRALIAN ‘LITTLE LEAGUE’ CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2021 National LL Championship games start next week on 9 June at Albert Park, Lismore, NSW (grounds below).
The games run through Monday, 14 June.

Yuji Weeks and Zac Tibbits will be representing our Club in the Adelaide Marlins team in Pool A.
South Australia’s other Little League team that’s competing is the Adelaide Rays in Pool B.

Our Marlins will play a tough Cronulla side first up at 8am on Thursday morning.
An early morning wake-up call for Cronulla! 😊

Unfortunately, the two Victorian teams, Southern Mariners and Twins will not be competing due to their states extended covid lockdown.
Therefore, only ten teams will be competing this year.

The Australian National Championship winner would normally go to the States for the LL World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania (with all expenses paid!),
but because of Covid 19, they will not be going this year. ☹ Hopefully, next year.

Information regarding the all the games and teams can be found on the Baseball SA website – www.baseballsa.com.au <www.baseballsa.com.au>

COACHING ACCREDITION – ON LINE NOW!
All coaches are encouraged to become accredited. All of our Junior coaches are accredited and have been for years.
We encourage others wanting to coach to have a look at these steps to become accredited.

To become an accredited baseball coach, go to the BaseballSA website and find COACH DEVELOPMENT under the PROGRAMS tab.
This is a universal USA Accreditation with three levels for coaching to fit your team.

All you need to know to become accredited can be found there and be done online.
If you are interested in coaching, please have a look.

U17 SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED!
We are looking forward to nominating an U17 team for this coming season.
Because we lack numbers to field a full U17 team, we are offering full scholarships to the 11 players who qualify.

This is open to all U17 aged players from across the league.
We will be holding two tryouts (TBA) during early preseason to select those successful candidates.

They will receive a uniform top, hat and FULL fees!
Be sure to spread the word. More later…

HISTORY LESSON 😊

Have a good weekend.
Cheers,
Bob
