Dear members,
To update around last night’s council meeting so everyone is aware of the current status.
The result of the meeting is our proposal for the Indoor Training Facility was moved back into a state of further community consultation once a wider plan was taken on Illyarrie Reserve around suitable locations and the future needs of the club, this is mainly come about due to significant pushback from local residents for a variety of reasons including but not limited to the location of the building.
The club has at all times with our discussions the council been open and transparent about what our current and future needs may be, and will continue to do so.
While this isn’t necessarily the result we wanted, we are hopeful that this does still keep the project alive and we will be working with the council and residents to try to find a workable solution for everyone.
The club’s board will meet further around this and what it means, and will continue to communicate with the membership on this and other long term projects.
