Hi Everyone,
We finally are up and running!
Welcome back to all our players from last season and beyond!
And also, a BIG Welcome! to all the new players to our Club this season – both Seniors and Juniors!
We hope you all enjoy being a part of our Dodger family.
Our Senior teams were nominated last week to the league and
our Junior teams are required to be nominated on Monday, 13 September.
Sunday will be a big day as all our Seniors and Juniors will
be using the grounds for their training sessions. See schedule below.
In case rain is forecasted, we all show up to train and it is then, decided if we train or not.
See you Sunday.
WORK BEE – SATURDAY: 9AM – 12NOON
Gavin Payne, our Director of Equipment, House and Grounds, will have a list of chores to be done on the day.
Guys and gals are all invited!
We have eight Tonnes of Baseball Mix to refill the Main Diamond cut-outs (Grass and weeds were dug out last week).
Lots of bodies are needed for this one.
Be sure to bring a shovel or rake; a wheelbarrow -or trailer if you have one.
We also have 4Tonnes of Dolomite to use on the ‘On Deck’ circles, dugout entrances and Bull Pen area.
The dugouts need to be cleaned out as well. Both diamonds.
And lastly, all the recycle bottles and cans need to be put in the Scout Recycle Bin out the back.
All the 240L bins are FULL!
It’s forecasted to be a beautiful, sunny morning, so please make time to come out and join us to
enjoy the Spring weather and get the jobs done. It’s your Club! – no one else does it for us.

CLUB SPONSORSHIPS NEEDED –
Sponsorship is a very important part of our Club’s viability to help sustain our Club –
especially early in our season when we don’t have much of a cash flow for starting up expenses.
It’s an investment in our future and the community!
Our Club depends on sponsorship – especially at this time of the year.
It’s up to ALL Club members (Yes, this means you) to help locate
companies or individuals willing to support our community’s sport.
We have approximately 250 families involved with our Club plus their friends and neighbours.
Our sponsorship packages are below.
(We have held the cost of the Packages at the same values as
previous years due the hardships caused by COVID.)
It’s your Club! – Keep it strong!
Contact me (Bob) or our Chair, Shaun, if you have a lead or need further information.
GGCD ‘UMPIRE COORDINATOR’ WANTED
Here it is again – please consider
This season, the League has asked each Club to appoint an Umpire Coordinator.
Because all Senior teams play on Saturdays, most BUASA (League) Umpires will be assigned to the upper grades leaving the
lower State League Divisions, Women’s League and Junior Competition games to be done by Club Umpires.
Hence this request.
The League is also asking that all Club Umpires be accredited as well as the Umpire Coordinator.
(This new GGCD position could be a shared position)
If you are interested in volunteering to umpire at our Club this season then, this is for you…
Contact Kristen, our Director of Baseball Operations if you are want to get involved with umpiring.
REMEMBER: THERE ARE NO GAMES WITHOUT UMPIRES!
Use the link to the BSA website below, register yourself and receive an email with a link which will take
you to the brand new online umpire information and training material.

HOME RUN DERBY / SEASON LAUNCH
Something new this season for our Club.
Planning is underway to make it a Special Day – not to mention it incorporating our Annual Home Run Derby.

Juniors 11 years old and older are invited to chase the balls in the outfield.
More information is forthcoming, so SAVE THE DATE!
ARMCHAIR UMPIRE – DID YOU MAKE THE RIGHT CALL?
It is a FAIR ball. It was in fair territory as it passed the base.
TIP OF THE WEEK –
ALWAYS LOOK TO YOUR BASE COACH FOR DIRECTIONS!
We look forward to seeing you at the Work Bee!
Stay safe and be sure to ‘Check In’.
Cheers,
Bob
