Hi Everyone,

This week will see our Div 1,2,3 teams all playing Saturday away at Glenelg.

We will see four Home games on Saturday with Jason’s Div 4s playing ET – Time to be advised – and
Ash’s Div 5s are NOT playing WT(covid strikes again).

Moose’s Div 6s will play Glenelg at Home as well as Roger’s Div 7s team.
Our Div 8 team will play Gawler at Home from 11am. A sleep in for Wiz’s team 😊
A big day at Dodger Town!

Friday will see Ethan’s WL Div 2 team at Goodwood.
Dipper’s WL Div 3 Dodgers are at Home v H&G Rams.

Scott’s GGCD WL Div 3 game has been cancelled due to them playing at the WT covid exposure site last Friday ☹.
Some of their players are in quarantine for two weeks.

The League is doing their best to reschedule their games.
All girls have tested negative and doing well.

Sunday starts off with our two U11/ML games playing at Home from 9am.
Bianca’s team plays Gawler and Janine’s team play Adelaide.

Jason’s ULL1 team is away at ET. Shane’s LL2 game is at Southern Districts.
Danun’s LL2 Dodgers team is at Home v H&G as
well as Matt’s LL2 Central Districts team v Goodwood.

Our Junior League teams are both away.
Sam’s 15/1s are at ET and Bob’s 15/2s are at Goodwood.

Greg’s Senior League game is at ET.
Only one more game to go for them before the split.

WHAT’S YOUR CALL?

COVID UPDATE
As you may be aware, the <www.facebook.com/westtorrensbaseballclub?__cft__%5b0%5d=AZUv1M2bEEFaGJzcsGxqSrr3AGlSnHzJWvPvmz4J_ld5ZP5MMlbVCoV-zs7K_7ysHJYX0f-4jkvMHgqPdl4_vWuGWgDtVIz6XHH5ABMOTM66KJmI-xNecmxdELdw0dt1C-z2syPHj0fFn…> West Torrens Baseball Club was named as a COVID-19 exposure site on Friday December 3rd.
Scott’s WL Div 3 GGCD team played there that night and some frequented the clubroom’s bar after the game.

Well Done! to West Torrens Baseball Club for acting so quickly to inform all affected to do what is required.
Unfortunately, a number of our WL Div 3 players were classified as requiring quarantine for varying periods and no baseball activities for two weeks.

They will miss two games while in quarantine. ☹
They have tested negative and all are doing well.

When we are at GGCD Baseball Club grounds and club rooms, and other venues,
please make sure we are covid secure by adhering to:

– Adhere to 1.5m social distancing where possible
– Don’t handshake after a game
– Maintain good hygiene practices
– Use the hand sanitiser located in dugouts and clubrooms
– Do not spit around the grounds
– Cough into your arm
– Get tested even if mild symptoms occur
– Face masks are mandatory indoors, including people working behind the bar and canteen.
– Remember to check in via the QR codes located around the club rooms and dug outs.

Woodville Baseball Club was visited last weekend by the Covid Busters. Check in!

Covid is here…☹

CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to Jake Shotton, our Div 1 catcher, and his wife, Tao, for the safe arrival of their first child, a baby girl named Stevie.
Mum and bub are both doing well. Dad is ecstatic! (Not to mention the grandparents! 😊)

She was born on Sunday, 5 December 2021 at 1:53pm and weighing a healthy 8 pounds 4 oz.
Congratulations to all!
Can’t wait to see her out and about around the baseball club!

DID YOU KNOW!

GAVIN’S TIP OF THE WEEK
When storing the plug-in bases after the game, please store them on their side.
Storing them as shown below will collect water and rust them out before their time.

SAVE THE DATE: SATURDAY, 18 DECEMBER!

ARMCHAIR UMPIRE – DID YOU KNOW THE ‘INFIELD FLY’ RULE?
It’s with men on First and Second or bases loaded, none or one out.

The purpose of the rule is to prevent letting it drop and then,
getting multiple force outs at Home or at the bases. 😊

TIP OF THE WEEK for OUTFIELDERS:

ALWAYS BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS!

Have a great week. Stay safe and please CHECK IN!

Cheers,
Bob
