Hi Everyone,
Our Div 1 team is playing Glenelg in a Home Twilight game tonight, Wednesday. First pitch is at 6pm. Come out an enjoy some baseball at Home!
The Canteen and Bar will be open. Mark Shotton will be providing a Sausage Sizzle and Hot Chips for those wanting some hot food.
This coming weekend, our Sunday Seniors play ND at Home with a Div 1 Double Header. AND its LADIES DAY!
The Juniors also start back this Sunday with two Home games – ML GGCD v ET & IL GGCD v SD.
Both of our Ladies WBL Div 2 teams will be at Home on Friday evening v ET & Glenelg.
Also, four of our Saturday Seniors will be playing at Home:
A Div 4 Derby from 3pm (Rick’s Dodgers v Matt’s GGCD team), Div 5 v Woodville from 12:30pm and Div 7 Blue v Sturt from 10am.
Lots of baseball coming up this weekend!

ARMCHAIR UMPIRE –
Situation: Two outs, the runner on Third base is hit by a fair, batted ball near the base (while standing on the line, hence, in fair territory).
The umpire properly declares the runner out for interference. Since this is the third out, the batter never reached first base.
Question: Does the batter get to bat again to lead off the next inning?
CONGRATULATIONS!
This season, our Charter’s Northern Marlins won the 2020 Super League Championship at West Beach against the Southern Seahawks.
The Championship game was played on 22 December 2020 with several of our GGCD members participating.
Congratulations goes to Darren Roberts (our Div 1 Coach) who was on the Coaching Staff
and our players, AJ, Jake Campbell, Jake Shotton, Josh Ledgard, Tom Norley and John Inglis.
Well Done, Fellas!
BUNNINGS BBQ DATE
We have been given another Bunnings BBQ opportunity for next month: SUNDAY, 21 February 2021.
If you can assist, there are three shifts:
8am – 11am
11am -2pm
2pm – 5pm (Close)

A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE –
Div 1 / Div 2 Squad 1998-1999 with Head Coach, Phil Alexander.
Four are still playing for us, however, in the lower Senior Divisions – 22 years later and still having fun playing for the Dodgers.

For scoring purposes, the batter is credited with a base hit and – he does not bat again to lead off the next inning.
(FYI – RUNNERS – do NOT stand on the third base line when leading off – stand well into the dirt or foul territory!)
