Hi Everyone,
Happy St. Patricks Day! The luck of the Irish is still with some of our teams’ playing finals.
This weekend sees our Div 2s playing at Sturt from 12 Noon,
our Div 4s playing at Henley & Grange on Saturday from 8:30am,
our WBL Div 2 playing Goodwood at Home on Friday evening and
our LL2 (Danun and Matt’s) teams playing each other at Home from 11am!
Play like no tomorrow and have fun!

Each season, the Club awards three of its members/players an award for their outstanding Club contributions.
All members are eligible to nominate their choice for the following awards.

The award winners will be presented at our Senior Presentation Dinner.
CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR –
The purpose of this award is to recognise an outstanding club member/s who has gone above and beyond the normal call of duty,
has shown dedication, commitment and made a significant contribution to the Club during the 2021-2022 season.
CLUB PLAYER OF THE YEAR-
A player that has added great value to their team and the club, by consistently producing a high standard of batting and fielding across the season.
The Player of the Year demonstrates an excellent attitude at training and games, shows great sportsmanship, never gives up and is always striving to do their best.
The Player of the Year is encouraging of their teammates and peers and always represents themselves, the team, and the club in a positive manner.
DEDICATED JUNIOR –
Must be under 16 years of age. A player that has consistently worked hard / applied themselves to their team and individual training sessions and as a result has achieved considerable kudos.
The individual is willing to learn, has listened to coach’s feedback and worked hard to improve their game and skills.
They have made an impact in their team with their skills, but also demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and good conduct towards opposition, teammates, coaching staff and umpires.
SENIOR PRESENTATION DINNER – FRIDAY, 1 APRIL 2022
Join our Club at The Plaza Hotel to present our Senior and Women’s teams’ Best and Fairest players for the season.
Our Club Awards for CLUB PERSON of the year, CLUB PLAYER of the Year and DEDICATED JUNIOR will also be presented.

BASEBALL SA’S CAPPS MEDAL AWARDS NIGHT
On Wednesday, 30 March 2022, Baseball SA’s Best & Fairest from all senior and women’s divisions of baseball will
Be presented at the Adelaide Oval including numerous other prestigious awards.
The prestigious Capps’s Award (MVP) will be presented to the Div 1 State League and Women’s Div 1 League player on the night.
Also, Volunteer of the year, Team of the Year, and Life membership.
This year, a different format and venue will be used at the Adelaide Oval’s
Lindsay Head Terrace (off War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide)
The presentation will be a Cocktail type style and cocktail attire is requested.
The Club will be subsidizing the $65 cost and booking fee.
GGCD attendees will only pay $35. Payment details will be forthcoming.
F&B: Cocktail style food plus one (1) drink on arrival.
There will be a bar with drinks available for purchase (card only).
Some high, cocktail-type tables and low tables will be available.
Underground parking is available at the oval off King William Street plus on street parking.
Underground parking is also available across the Torrens pedestrian Bridge.
Please note that as of November 2021 Adelaide Oval has a double vaccination policy.
Proof of vaccination will be required for all guests attending.
THURSDAY NIGHT – ‘FINISH UP THE BEER CARD’ NIGHT
While the Div 2s and Div 4s train tonight for their big games on Saturday,
the Club will be open for all who want to come along for a bite to eat, a coldie and a chin wag from 6pm
– and to ‘finish up their beer cards’.
We will be ordering take away pizza for those wanting to participate.
Should be another good Club night. Don’t miss out.
BSA – JUNIOR PRESENTATIONS: FRIDAY, 18 MARCH
Baseball SA will be celebrating the achievements of our Junior MVPs,
introducing our 2022 Charter Teams and celebrating the junior baseball season that was.

GGCD’S ‘MARLINS’ CHARTER PLAYERS
We have quite a few Dodger players in the State Charter teams.
They will be playing in the State Championships which are to be held here in Adelaide from 21-25 April 2022.
The winning State Charter teams in the top two of their divisions will go to the Nationals in May/June 2022. (The Development teams go no further.)
We have two U15 Dodger players in the Marlins ‘Junior League’ team.
Lucas Manson and Tyler Green are participating this year.
We have three U13 Dodgers in the Marlins ‘Little League’ Team.
Ashton Diplock, Liam Trembath and Will Wildman.
Dodger’s Steve Whitehead is LL Head Coach with Brandon Diplock and Jason Trembath assisting -and Scott Coxhill, the Executive Officer.
Our charter has two Marlin ‘Development’ teams as well. They will play during the State Championships.
We have four U13/2 Dodger players in the one team – Harrison Manson, Levi Burns, Zac Hatchard and Mitch Stevens.
We have two U13/2 Dodger’s playing in the girls Development team – Amelia Manson and Olivia George.
Congratulations to all and just to let you know, our Club is very proud of you!

‘GGCD JR BASEBALL ACADEMY’
Don’t forget to sign up for our six-week Academy program held on Friday evenings from 17 June through 22 July 2022 at
Mega Courts in Windsor Gardens.
It is open to all Junior Divisions: U11s, U13s, U14s, U15s and U17s.
The sessions will be split into two groups – U11 & U13s and U14s to U17s.
Times for the 90-minute sessions are:
5:30pm to 7pm (U11s & U13s) and
7pm to 8:30pm (U14s to U17s)
The fee for our six-week program is $60.

GGCD JUNIOR PRESENTATIONS
Once again, it will be held at Waterworld located in Ridgehaven on
Saturday, 2 April from 6:30pm. Bring the whole family for a fun night!
All the Junior team’s will be presented with their photos and their Best and Fairest players will be presented with their trophies.

GGCD’s ‘50 CLUB’ FUNDRAISER’S WINNERS
It was another fun night for the Reverse Draws of both fundraisers, Red and Blue.
Last Saturday night was well attended with host, Steve Conry at the helm of this fun night.
He was assisted by Richard Bastian, the silent assassin 😊 who drew out most of the ‘losing’ numbers to whittle down to the grand prize numbers.
The winners of the Red 50 were Sharee with her number 9 for $100,
John Inglis won $300 and Matt Cain/Tayla Conry the grand prize of $700!
The winners of the Blue 50 was once again, Sharee with her number 9 for $100,
Matt Cain for $300 and Big Joe Balzan for $700.
Congratulations and thanks to all for supporting our ‘50’ Club fundraisers this season.
WINTER BASEBALL at DODGER TOWN
Roger Prime, the Surrey Downs Winter Baseball Club Commissioner, is
once again hosting our Winter Baseball Competition for this coming winter season.
All games are held on Saturday at Illyarrie Reserve with game times of
11:30am and 2pm for a proposed 14 game season.
The season opener is on 7 May 2022. Start getting your teams together!
