Hi Everyone,
Our Div 1s are at HOME this Saturday playing against Kensington!
Be sure to come along and cheer on the Home teams.
Four games at Home Saturday v Kensy.
It will be like old home week -again- playing Kensington with some of their previous players now wearing Dodger’s uniforms!
We also, have some new sponsor’s banners being displayed on our Home Run fence for the first time.
We sure appreciate their sponsorships to enable us to keep our costs down and put the savings back into our Club operations!
DODGER’S PLAYING IN THE SA ‘SUPER LEAGUE’
There’s quite a few of our Dodgers Div 1 players involved with the Super League’s North Marlins team.
They play on Wednesdays at West Beach from 7:15pm.
Our players involved in the Marlins roster are Jake Campbell (SS), Jake Shotton (C). AJ (P),
Brandon Manzella (OF), Ethan Badcock (P) and Ethan Murphy (IF). Good Luck, fellas and have FUN!
ARMCHAIR UMPIRE: YOU MAKE THE CALL
Situation: Runner on First, no outs. The hit and run play is on as the runner takes off with the pitch.
The ball is hit to the second baseman.
The runner runs out of his baseline to avoid the fielder fielding the ball.
The second baseman throws to first to retire the batter runner.
Should the runner be called out for running around the second baseman?

‘PAST PLAYERS CATCH UP’ MEAL
This Thursday at the Club from 7pm to 9pm, Past Players are invited to join us for the Club meal.
Hosted by Steve Conry and ‘Big Hands’ Joe.
This is a new once a month event taking place on the first Thursday of the month.
Thanks to past President and Life Member, Steve Conry.
When our Div 1 Coach, DR (a past Central Districts player), is finished with his selections,
you can join in our question time with him. 😊

CLUB NIGHT / THURSDAY MEAL –
Selections and Burgers! Past times and good times!
Our Div 7s will be serving Chicken Burgers and Chips for $5.
Our ‘50 Club’ only has a few numbers left before we start the draws!
There are 10 draws for $50 each and then, at the end, the big
REVERSE DRAW for $700 grand prize, $300 and $100.
Be sure to get yours and join in the fun!
Don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket too for the Meat Tray!

ARMCHAIR UMPIRE – DID YOU MAKE THE RIGHT CALL?
The runner must avoid a fielder in the act of fielding a batted ball.
He established a new baseline to avoid the collision/obstruction.
He is NOT out for illegally avoiding a tag.
NOTES FROM GAVIN (Director of Equipment, House & Grounds)
For parents (and players): Please don’t rush off with your player after the game as
there is always more diamond housekeeping to be done other than just on the diamonds.
There’s always -it seems- a couple things that seem to be regularly forgotten at the end of the day.
1. Putting away the scorer’s furniture 2. Storing the scoreboard 3. Policing the area (picking up, recylcing and discarding the rubbish) 4. Securing the batting tunnel.
You may not have used the tunnels, but someone needs to pick up the balls and lock the door.
Please have a look to make sure it is locked up. There are vandals in the area.
NEXT BIG EVENT – CHRISTMAS PARTY!
Our Director of Fundraising and Social Events, Liv Trembath, has mentioned that
our next big event is CHRISTMAS at the CLUBHOUSE. Stay tuned!
THURSDAY IS REMEMBRANCE DAY – 11 NOVEMBER
TIP FOR THE DAY…When attending Home games, beware of line drives especially
when sitting along the Main Diamond’s Third Base line!
