JUNIOR WINTER ACADEMY
Due to the challenges of finding a suitable indoor baseball training facility this season, we have decided the Junior Academy will be for Under 11-13 (Minor League/Little League) players only.
This season the Academy will be held on four Friday evenings in August (2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd) at the Kings Baptist Grammar School in Wynn Vale from 6pm to 7:30pm.

CLUB REGISTRATION INFORMATION
BaseballSA is looking to open registrations earlier this season, and as a club we are finalising our information for this season in anticipation of these being open by the end of the month.
Keep an eye out on social media and our updates as we will circulate this as soon as we have it available.
BASEBALLSA COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS
BaseballSA have changed some of their governance models this season and are looking to include clubs more in decision making that goes on behind the scenes to keep our competition and sport running for us all.
There will be four committees that will meet regularly, that will have delegated responsibilities by the BaseballSA Board to advise, make recommendations, and where appropriate, make decisions on behalf of the Board, aligning with the strategic goals of BaseballSA and adhering to our Constitution, Bylaws, and Playing Conditions.
The Baseball Committee shall have the power to inquire into and decide upon matters pertaining to the SABL Club Competition and shall be represented by a delegate from each club and association involved. GGCD will be represented on this committee by Shaun Evans and Matthew Burns.
The club is looking to be represented on all of these committees, and as such we are seeking interested club members that would be interested in representing GGCD Baseball Club on the following committees. If this is of interest to you, please contact the club on secretary@ggcdbaseball.com.au by Friday, 19 July 2024 so we can be included in these bodies.
We will look to nominate one primary delegate and one back-up delegate on the below committees
– Permit Committee
– Disputes & Protests Committee
– Bylaws and Playing Conditions Committee
Clear terms of reference for all committees and relevant updates to the SABL Bylaws are currently being finalised and will be provided to clubs in the coming weeks. We are unsure as of yet how regularly these committees will meet but anticipate it will either be at West Beach or online.

PERFECT GAME WWBA 14U NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Over the past week, two of our junior players, Owen Hughes and Lachlan Vine, along with Brandan Manzella as Head Coach have been participating in the Perfect Game World Wood Bat Association National Championships in the Hoover/Birmingham area of Alabama, USA.
On Monday (Tuesday in Adelaide time), the team played at the historic Rickwood Field, which is the oldest existing ballpark in North America and is significant in its status within the sport.
The boys have had an eventful tournament so far against tough opposition, and we are sure they are enjoying every moment of it and will learn a lot from the experience.
