Women’s Baseball in South Australia is taking the country by storm. From our youth women coming home with the gold from the 2024 Australian Youth Women’s Championships to Carly Moore being the first South Australian to make the Emeralds squad, great things are happening here. The Baseball SA Performance Pathways Program wants to take our women to the next level and beyond.

Introducing the 2024 offseason Women’s Pathways Program. We will provide an opportunity for female baseballers to have access to some of the best coaches in a structured program that will work on improving their strength and technique with the goal of making them the best at the state, national and international level, ready to trial for Barclay Cup, Australian Youth Women’s Championships and Australian Women’s Championships.

The program will provide an opportunity to challenge themselves and each other while giving them the feedback they need through data analysis and mentorship.

Focus areas for the program

To compete with other states and eventually the world, there needs to be a strong foundation of skills and an understanding of the game and specific situations within the game.
– Hitting
– Fielding (defence)
– Pitching/catching
– Speed (running) Provided by Greg Cameron, Athletics Australia Level 3 Performance Development Coach
– Data recording through Rapsosdo, Stalker and Pocket Radar.

Coaches for the program

There will be a ratio of five athletes for every coach for focused and specified feedback. Coaches that will be a part of the program through various stages, that have been confirmed include:

Timeframe of the program

This program will run on Monday’s 6:00pm – 8:30pm at West Beach from 22 July through 2 September.

Age

This course is open to those born in 1989 – 2011. If you do fall outside of this age bracket and are still interested in developing yourself towards trialling for Barclay Cup, Australian Youth Women’s Championships and Australian Women’s Championships, please reach out to Matt Williams (matt.williams@baseballsa.org.au) to discuss further.

Cost of the program

The six weeks of trainings will be $180 +GST and Game Day transaction fees.
