Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Community Round

In partnership with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, Baseball SA are dedicating State Round 16 to raise awareness for blood/plasma donations and support for Lifeblood.
With thanks to our club sponsor Intersport, all Senior Players are encouraged to participate in this round by placing an order with their Coach to puchase yellow socks (with $2 from every pair purchased to be donated to Lifeblood) and wear them in Round 16 to raise awareness for Plasma donations- because I am a weekly Plasma recipient 💛
In September 2022, I was diagnosed with a rare primary immune disease called Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID) and became the 121st person in SA to be approved for immunoglobulin replacement treatment – which can only be made from human donor plasma.
I administer plasma infusions at home to help fight off infections I regularly battle (particularly in my ears and upper respiratory) Not only does plasma help me to be well enough to play alongside my amazing Womens Div 3 team every week, but also well enough to work and enjoy life as a Mum/Wife/Daughter/Aunty and Friend.
Throughout the month of February, Baseball SA are urging club members and supporters to visit local donation centres, join their Club Donation Team and contribute to club totals for blood and plasma donations.
