Hi Everyone,
We had a great time at our grounds on Sunday afternoon for our Ladies Day with our Div 1 double header v Northern Districts. After the win on Wednesday night v Glenelg, the fun continued.
We won both games and propelled us up to eighth on the ladder! Johnny Inglis pitched the first game to a 3-0 result and AJ pitched the second game for a 7-4 result. (He looked great on the mound with his pink socks too!)
Our Div 2 and Div 3 teams also won their games as well, so a good day all around.
Thanks to Mia Taylor, our Social and Fundraising Director, for doing another great job.
Unfortunately, our Div 1 Twilight game at Southern Districts did not go so well going down 5-0. A long drive at rush hour (not sure how THAT was scheduled – an hour drive to the ground for a 6pm start! ☹)
Thanks guys for making the drive to represent our Club!
ARMCHAIR UMPIRE – YOU MAKE THE CALL
Situation: Runner on First, no outs.
The ‘hit and run’ play is on as the runner takes off with the pitch.
The ball is hit to the second baseman.
The runner runs out of the baseline to avoid the fielder fielding the ball.
The second baseman throws to first to retire the batter runner.
Should the runner be called out for running around the second baseman? (see below)
NEXT THURSDAY, 11 FEBURARY – Junior/Senior Training Session
Save the DATE – Next week. Please do your best to attend this once off training session.
Our Div 1 Coach, Darren Roberts (DR) and the Div 1-3 Squad will be hosting a Junior training night on Thursday, 11th February, 2021 from 6pm.
We invite all U11 to U17 Players/teams to come along to train with and be coached by the Div 1-3 Squad. Pitching, Catching, Hitting, Baserunning and Fielding will be covered.
Training will start at 6pm with a pie and pasty night to be held after training. RSVPs will be needed for those attending – more on this later.

ANOTHER TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE…
Where it all starts – T-Ball! A fun time for kids.
Little Josh Conry started playing T-Ball at a young age (7?) and now, at 25 years of age, he is the Captain of our Div 1 Team.
Along the way, he made the U14 and U16s State Teams – having fun all along the way.
For the past two seasons, he has won our Club’s MVP Award as well. A humble winner for such a prestigious award.
A great guy to have around the Club…for just having fun!
We are so lucky to have so many great players at our Club and Josh is just one of them.
When you see him next time, be sure to say ‘G’Day, Josh!’
ANOTHER ‘50 CLUB’ FUNDRAISER ON OFFER
There are only four numbers left to start off the weekly draws. There will be 10 weekly draws and we will catch up when these last numbers are purchased.
Each number is $50 at the bar in the Dodgers Lounge and each weekly draw winner will get back their $50! – and their number goes back in the barrel for more chances.
On the night of the BIG DRAW, the weekly draws will be caught up. Also, on the night, there are free drinks for all number holders and a grand prize of $700!
A super fun night and a great way to support our Club. See Steve at the bar for your lucky number – only four left!

Another reminder: We will need five volunteers per shift – a big ask.
If you can assist, there are three shifts:
8am – 11am
11am -2pm
2pm – 5pm (Close)

THURSDAY – CLUB NIGHT MEAL
Our Div 7 RED team will be providing our meal for the night.
They will be serving Chicken and Chips for $5.

The runner must avoid a fielder in the act of fielding a batted ball.
The runner, therefore, established a new baseline to avoid the collision/obstruction.
He is NOT out for ‘illegally’ avoiding a tag.
