Hi Everyone,
The big weekend is finally here – Preseason training starts this weekend!
We wish to welcome all our new members who have joined us this season and look forward to having you as an important part of our club.
Attached is the Strategy document proposed by our club members back in early March. The Strategy meeting was attended by over 30 members putting forth their ideas for our future.
Our Chairman, Mark Shotton (who hosted the meeting) has put together the outcomes shown in this document. Please have a read as to where we want to go in the future.

We only have five weeks until our first round of games, so do your best to make to your preseason trainings. Weekday training will start soon after.

GREEN SHIRT UMPIRE CLINIC – THIS SATURDAY!
This season, the Baseball League has asked each club to have at least 10 x accredited Club umpires.
We need your help! Please consider!
GGCD has organised a ‘practical’ umpire session with the League and BUASA to be held at our grounds this Saturday, 12 September at 2pm to accredit our Club umpires – rather than driving down to West Beach to do so!
BUASA was kind enough to do this for us – let’s show up for their efforts.
To complete the course, go to the BSA website and REGISTER at PROGRAMS – UMPIRE DEVELOPMENT etc, then, complete the on-line quiz found there.
By completing our two hour practical you will become accredited. It’s that simple!
You can come out, then REGSER and do the quiz, but would love you to REGISTER first.
We pay our Club umpires $20/game and are given a cold beverage at the end of the game.
If you have any questions, please let me know. You will not be assigned any games only those you may want to umpire when you’re available.
Thank you for supporting YOUR Club.
BUNNINGS BBQ – SATURDAY 12/9
This coming Saturday, 12/9, will be our first Bunnings BBQ since COVID – AND on a Saturday!
A BIG fundraiser for the club.
We are in desperate need of volunteers from 2pm until close (around 4:30ish).
We need FIVE volunteers for each shift per the new covid rules at the BBQ.
Contact our Social & Fundraising Director, Mia Taylor is you can assist.
She can be reached on FB pm or email at mia.taylor@live.com.au

WE ARE STILL WANTING MORE U15 & U17 PLAYERS
It is another struggle this season for player numbers by missing one or two players to make a team of at least 10 players.
If you know of anyone who wants to come out and have a try, please encourage them to come out and give it a go.
We have great coaches to provide the necessary knowledge. Ask your mates to come and try!
GROUNDS MAINTENANCE CONTINUES –
10AM – Saturday, Gavin will be there working on the grounds and would like your help.
He’s doing a great job of refurbishing our diamonds and needs some support of those who play on them – pitchers would be good to see (clay bricks still need to be installed).
With the season fast approaching, he is looking for a team to take on the weekly task of Line Marking. If you would like to help, let him know.
The cut outs never looked better. If you can spare an hour or two, please come and join him. We have plenty of shovels. Cheers.
SPONSORS NEEDED –
Sponsorship is a very important part of our Club’s viability to help sustain our Club – especially in these COVID times.
It’s an investment in our future and the community! Our club depends on sponsorship!
It’s up to ALL Club members to help locate companies or individuals willing to support our community’s sport.
It’s your Club – keep it strong. Contact me (Bob) if you have a lead or need further information.
