HOW KEEN IS YOUR DESIRE TO PLAY BASEBALL?
In April 2021, Leslie Phillips made up her mind – she wanted to play baseball!
But – she was very much overweight and unfit to play for her 5’3” (1.57m) frame!
She never played baseball before, but she had watched her son’s baseball games being involved as
a supportive parent from when he played Juniors up to and including his playing Div 1.
After all these years, her desire was bursting to finally give it a go.
She was determined play – to lose weight and get stronger to reach her dream.
With the support of her family and workmates, she worked hard – very hard to make it happen.
Working with a physio with special exercise equipment and using the NOOM diet method,
she finally reached her goal to play baseball this past season losing 40kgs!
She played on Scott’s WL Div 3 team – and loved it!
While she is not looking to drop any further weight, she is now, focusing on just getting stronger for next season.
Oh, and by the way, Leslie is 56 years old.
Congratulations, Leslie! Keep up the good work!

go over this season’s rules and playing conditions, rosters and equipment use.

We look forward to another fun season of winter baseball 😊
ARMCHAIR UMPIRE – DID YOU GET IT RIGHT?
The final score is 6-5. In this case, the game ends immediately when the winning run scores.
TIP FOR DIV 1 THROUGH 4 PLAYERS (WOOD BAT USERS):
Thank you all for your support and encouragement for this newsletter during the season.
The focus is keeping you all – past and present players – informed with some of the things going on around the club.
We don’t get to see one another all that often after the season commences as we all play at different times and different days.
We look forward to seeing you all again during our preseason training sessions starting in September.
All pertinent information can be found on our website and FB page.
Enjoy the offseason and stay safe.
